God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life’s Best (and Worst) Moments by Hannah Brown

Publication Date: November 23, 2021

Plot: Suddenly in the spotlight, twenty-four-year-old Hannah Brown realized that she wasn’t sure what she wanted. After years of competing in beauty pageants, and then starring on The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars, she had become incredibly visible. There she was, in her early twenties, with millions around the world examining and weighing in on her every decision. She found herself wondering what it would mean to live on her terms. What it would mean to stop seeking approval from others and decide – for the first time – what it was she wanted from her own life. Honest and emotionally urgent, God Bless This Mess is a reminder that true growth doesn’t come without strife – and it’s through those dark, messy moments that self-acceptance and love can bloom.

As an avid fan of The Bachelor franchise, I have loved Hannah Brown since the first day she stepped foot into the Bachelor mansion. I remember being super excited when Hannah was chosen to be on the show. We grew up about 30 minutes away from each other and even had some mutual friends, so it was awesome to have a girl from my neck of the woods be chosen for something as huge at The Bachelor. But my real love for

Hannah started when she became The Bachelorette. She seemed so honest and raw and was so sure of who she was, what she believed in, and what she stood for. It was so easy to cheer her on and watch her story unfold. While she didn’t get the happily ever after she hoped for, I have so enjoyed watching her grow into the person she is today, and it was so beautiful to read her story unfold.

My new year’s resolution was to start spending more time on myself, doing things that I enjoy - just for fun. I’ve been overjoyed to start reading again. My heart needed it. And what better book to start with than God Bless This Mess? I learned so much about what it means to love yourself and how its okay to not always be perfect.

What I Loved:

• The trauma and tragedies from her childhood, the broken hearts she had growing up and her openness made me want to be Hannah’s friend.

• How authentically Hannah continues to be, even throughout the pages of this book.

• There’s also some Bachelor Nation TEA in here that I enjoyed reading way too much 🤣

• If there is one thing that Hannah does in this book is keep it 100% real.

WHAT I Didn't LOVE:

• The writing could be a little cringe at times, but she’s not really an author, so I still enjoyed it!

• It took me a little bit to get into the story, but once I did, I was hooked!

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Hannah’s story and I’m so happy to cheer her on. Read more + purchase your copy of God Bless This Mess on GoodReads.
