Well to start, this one has been a LONG time coming. Once again, I got to photograph big life moments of the Yonker family, and I'm not mad about it (lol).
Let me preface with the fact that Ashley Yonker is my best friend in the entire flippin world, like no exaggeration. She's my soulmate and has been for all 14 years we've been friends. In that time, I've gotten to watch her baby brother Christopher grow up from an actual baby to a grown man who is starting a life of his own with his forever love. There is nothing better than that to be honest.
Ashley and I were in Disney Springs in Walt Disney World when Christopher called her about proposing to Lauren. "I think it's time I start looking for a ring," were his exact words I think, and I thought Ashley's jaw was going to hit the floor. (Christopher is quite a goofball, and he had joked for a long time about how they would be old before they got married.) That was the first week of September. One month later, Christopher had the ring and was ready to get down on one knee.
I was STOKED. He actually planned proposal weekend around when I could be there to photograph it for them, which just warmed my heart in the best way.
Ashley & I helped get everything set up, and then we were off to help be the decoys (I even got to get my nails done in the process hehe!) It worked out perfectly because she was shocked let me tell you - oh and SHE SAID YASSSSS.
They had a moment, admired the ring (that was custom made from his mom's diamond), laughed, hugged, kissed, hugged a lot more. We snapped some fun pictures because I wasn’t about to let that “just engaged” hype go to waist!
And it gets better - I get to capture their wedding in Mississippi in November of next year, and I have no chill. LIFE IS GOOD!
