I AM SO DEADDDDD.
Honestly, everything about this wedding was completely perfect. It was prettier and more honest and intimate than I could have ever imagined!! But let's backtrack just a minute...
I've known Cody since he was just a wee eighth-grader in my high school when his family moved to my hometown. His (older) niece Ashley was in my grade and eventually became one of my best friends and the people dearest to me in this ENTIRE world. Needless to say, Cody grew up like a brother to me, and it almost brought me to tears that he trusted me with this oh-so-important day of his life.
Over the years, I have seen Cody with a few serious girlfriends, but none that made him light up like Julie. She is just the sweetest soul, and you really can see the love they share for one another when they look in each other's eyes. That is so rare in this world, and I'm so happy that I not only get to see that but that I got to capture it for them as well.
As their wedding date came closer, it was made even more special by the fact that they got married at the same venue that my husband and I got married at in 2018. It is so beautiful and meant so much to me to get to go back there and shoot a wedding for someone that I love. While there were threats of thunderstorms all week and Cody was stressing out and showing the true groomzilla side of himself that we knew to expect, after a tiny sprinkle that morning, the weather cleared up for the most beautiful wedding day they could have asked for.
I most definitely cried at this wedding more than any I've shot for in the past and honestly maybe even more than my own (shh! haha!) It was an incredible day, and it was all thanks to some pretty amazing vendors that I got the opportunity to work with.
